I am drawn to raising awareness of social issues. Predominantly I explore these issues using a range of mixed mediums from performance, film, digital photography, written subconscious, fabricated sculpture and experimental sound. My main focus at this time is in our mental struggles, memory and therapeutic means of recovery. I hint at this through symbolic reference within my work. I set the stage to create photographs that are performative and allegorical with colour psychology playing a vital role. Participation is a very important element in my practice. I will purposefully let myself be led by how the end result will affect the viewer, specifically what emotion the interaction might create. This aspect is very important so you could say that interactive installation as an
immersive experience becomes the main medium for me, or, emotion as art. I am interested in environmental well – being , animal well- being and our own mental well-being. I enjoy the process of play and the idea of what can be created out of spontaneity. I enjoy collaborative engagements that begin from nothing and become something. I enjoy immersing myself in site-specific locations and seeing what grows out of that. I am looking forward to exploring the process of analogue photography this year while at Sample Studios and delving deeper into my painting/ digital painting practice.
