Leah Brown (b.1999) is a visual artist living and working in Cork. Using a 4×5 large-format camera, she stages hyperreal photographs that seek to pose questions about a world where the boundaries between the artificial and the natural, as well as the virtual and the real, are increasingly blurred. Drawing visual cues from advertising, stock-photography, and the still-life genre, her work explores how evolutionary factors may influence our perception and understanding of beauty and aesthetics in contemporary culture.
