Michaela is an emerging artist who shares her perspective as a neurodivergent woman through painting. By embracing a world without logic, Michaela invites the viewer to reflect on how they see the world around them. This encourages them to see the world from a new perspective and ask questions about what they are seeing. This is an invitation to challenge any prejudices or preconceptions they may hold. Through the use of Neo-Surrealist techniques, Michaela creates illogical dispositions in her work. The imagery in her work creates dreamlike compositions, giving the work a sense of otherworldliness. These Surreal compositions share a common neurodivergent experience of not understanding social conventions, allowing the neurotypical viewer to see things from a new perspective. These works encourage the viewer to celebrate and be proud of our differences. Through her work, Michaela aims to challenge social institutions by rejecting the logic and rationality of everyday life and instead embracing the nonsensical.
