Brian is a sound artist working in performance, audio recording, and custom electro-acoustic instruments. His latest piece, The Uncooperative Collaborator, looked at human interaction with nature. House plants became musical performers on stage, by the use of data sonification software. Vintage and recycled equipment is preferred, putting an emphasis on sustainability. The goal is always to show the audience something interesting. As a luthier, Brian’s keen interest in ancient and medieval music has led him to build heritage instruments including: Guitars, Hammer Dulcimers, Hurdy-Gurdy’s, Bamboo Fiddles, Zithers and other imaginative string instruments. Brian is currently working on incorporating new and old technology such as microcontrollers, analogue electronics, and audio tape into acoustic instruments to create new electro-acoustic instruments. Brian is accepting commissions for new instruments as well as customisations and repair
