Basant Festival is a vibrant, artist- and community-led initiative dedicated to celebrating South Asian art and cultural identity in Ireland. It is proudly supported by Cork County Council, Creative Ireland, Rethink Ireland, and Sample-Studios.
The Basant Festival is now inviting Expressions of Interest from South Asian artists currently based in the Republic of Ireland for participation in our 2025 Festival Exhibition, presented in Carrigaline Library and Cork City Library.
We are looking for works that explore themes of South Asian identity, culture, and lived experience—in ways that resonate with life in Ireland today. This is an opportunity to present your work as part of a growing, artist- and community-led festival that celebrates and uplifts South Asian voices in Ireland. We particularly welcome submissions from emerging artists in the early stages of their careers. Due to the library contexts, work should be 2D and ready for hanging.
