Art Historian Dr Matthew Whyte returns with a new lecture series, which takes the audience on an art-filled journey through the often beautiful, sometimes scandalous, and always fascinating moments in the development of Western civilisation.
This Spring Series begins in the Baroque period, following the development of Western art, culture, and thought into the Enlightenment. Discover the splendours of Caravaggio, Bernini, Rembrandt, and Vermeer following the tumults of the Reformation, before seeing how new intellectual movements shaped a changing vision of the world in the art of Neoclassical and Romantic giants such as Jacques Louis David, Antonio Canova, Francisco de Goya, and Caspar David Friedrich.
The lectures can be attended as a series, but are also designed as standalone talks, which can be attended individually. €25 for individual lectures, 20% off for booking the series of 6. Details and bookings for the series can be found on Triskel’s website: CLICK HERE.
