The Rocket’s Red Glare: Barbara Diener Artist Talk & Tour
Barbara Diener will offer 2 talks and tours of her solo exhibition The Rocket’s Red Glare for Culture Night 2026. The tours will commence at 5:30pm and 6:30pm, respectively.
The Rocket’s Red Glare is a new solo exhibition by Barbara Diener exploring the contested legacy of Wernher von Braun and the ways history is shaped, remembered, and rewritten. Weaving together photography, archival material, and family images from World War II, the exhibition reflects on memory, landscape, and the uneasy relationship between technological progress and conflict. Blending documentary photography with mixed realities, Diener invites audiences to question the stories we inherit and those we choose to tell.

Sarah Long: I Want To Talk About Ireland – Launch Event
Sarah Long is Artist in Residence in TRISKEL SAMPLE Project Space from 3 September – 25 October. On Culture Night, Sarah will be launching an album and publication with a performance, combining sound, voice and material gestures. In this new body of work, Sarah uses her autofictional persona Mary, a modern day iteration of the Mother Ireland figure, alongside the aesthetics and fluidity of girlhood, as a mode of criticality.
I Want To Talk About Ireland (Beat Time Records) is Sarah Long’s debut spoken word album. Floating in a musical landscape of cinematic sound design, strings and electronic beats, Sarah’s existential, inner monologue engages with ideas of nationhood, womanhood and voice through expressions of girlhood. This record is produced by Laurie Shaw.
I’m never going to be able to sleep out here (published by Bloomers) invites you into the confidence, and bedroom, of the auto fictional character Mary. She implores you to listen and decipher her strange visions. Mary is a body, a woman trapped, Mother Ireland, you, me, us, Sarah, a mortal bean, a big sack of potatoes, a shape shifter, a girl, a curled up fiddlehead, a voice to be ignored, a voice to be listened to, a public persona, a private thought, a never ending monologue. Mary is an allegory of a painting.
