Culture Night 2024 at Sample-Studios

We have a packed line-up of free events for Culture Night Cork City so get your visual art hats on and join in!

Sample-Studios in partnership with Cork City Council will lead three consecutive tours of Island City: Urban Sculpture Trail. A series of innovative access services will be available during these tours, including ISL interpretation, assisted listening technology, tactile resources, and audio description via NaviLens codes developed in collaboration with Arts and Disability Ireland. Tours are FREE but must booked in advance – CLICK HERE to book your tickets.

As part of these tours, Sample-Studios member Elize de Beer will host drop-in screen printing when the tour concludes at Triskel Arts Centre, so participants can take an Island City-themed tote bag home with them!

If the tours have you looking for more, fear not! A few steps away in the TRISKEL SAMPLE Project Space, our current artist in residence Joseph Heffernan will be hosting an open studio from 6:30-9:30pm, allowing the public to explore his space as he makes impromptu drawings interpreting the work he’s produced so far in his residency. Find out more about Joseph’s residency by clicking here.

But don’t stop there – make your way to The Lord Mayor’s Pavilion where we will be hosting the official opening of our Graduate Showcase, featuring the work of recent MTU Crawford College of Art & Design graduates Lisa O’Sullivan, Dee Hurley, and Holly Halligan . Come along from 5-7pm to see the work and meet the artists.
