Would you like to learn how to make a low-cost reuseable silicone mould? Join Catherine Callanan in Sample-Studios Project Room on 7 March 2025 from 11am-12pm to learn all about it.
You can use these mould to cast your object in various materials; plaster, wax, jesmonite, paper etc. Make a mould of a 3D object or lift the texture off a solid surface in situ (e.g., tree bark, a wall, the pavement, fabric etc) using materials that will cost you less than €10.
What to bring:
- An object you want to make a mould of (about the size of your hand or smaller for workshop purposes), the skill can be used to cast as big as you want to go afterwards.
- Or if you want to take an imprint of the exterior wall / tree bark we can use that also.
- A plastic mixing bowl or basin (big enough to fit your object and your 2 hands for mixing)
- A caulking gun (you will need one to make moulds after the workshop so well worth investing in one, they are relatively cheap) if you don’t have one, we can share.
All other materials are supplied.
Moulds are reuseable and will last for years.
