Opening Reception: ‘Final Figures’ Group Exhibition in The Lord Mayor’s Pavilion, 5-7pm 16 Jan

Join us in The Lord Mayor’s Pavilion, Fitzgerald’s Park, Cork City, for the opening reception of Final Figures from 5-7pm Thursday 16 January. 

This group exhibition presents new figurative painting by Joseph Heffernan, Emmet Brickley, and Siobhán Collins and is curated by Dr Matthew Whyte. Each artist explores questions of identity, memory and fantasy. Their anonymous protagonists exist in solitude, contextualised in place, albeit ambiguous, in a state of perpetual transition or a sense of impending finality, as if resisting contextualisation and wishing to exist instead in liminality. An apparent playfulness and staid domesticity gives way to an ominous sense of disruption and disconnectedness in these augmented fictions.

Exhibition continues until 22 February 2025
