About Mick Wilkins and Kilnagleary Foundry & Studios
Mick Wilkins is a prolific Irish sculptor whose public art can be seen across Cork City, County, and beyond. Wilkins studied at the Crawford School of Art where he shifted his focus from painting to three-dimensional sculpture. He has developed a richly varied practice in stone, metal and bronze, initially teaching himself stone carving while living near a quarry in Kilkenny, and later earning public commissions throughout Ireland. Since 2016 he has operated Kilnagleary Studios near Carrigaline, transforming a derelict site into a vibrant creative hub where he and other artists design, cast and install large-scale works.
