The Studios of Sanctuary is Sample-Studios’ residency programme for artists from an asylum seeker, refugee or migrant background, supported by the Cork Arts Fund at the Community Foundation for Ireland.
Sprouting Hands explores the different emotions that an individual’s hands can hold. Seiko hosted a series of hand moulding workshops throughout Cork in Spring/Summer 2023 and each participant created a cast of their hand for the artist to work with. By taking part, participants joined a community, creating space for exploration and creativity. Each hand has been added to large-scale sculptures displayed as part of Individual Masses
