Angela Gilmour is a visual artist based in Cork. Primarily a painter, her work also includes drawing, print, photography and installation. Originally from Scotland and formerly a practicing physicist, her interests and artistic practice now surround the urgency of climate change, land consumption, sustainability and the political and environmental impact of land and sea borders. Gilmour’s work is engaged in site-specific investigation, scientific collaboration and historical research. She questions our ability to balance progress with the preservation of environments that have suffered trauma through her work.
