About the member

My work centres on the notion of what is a home. It is an exploration of that which is most emotive, where is it that we belong, and how can we, in this modern state of upheaval, find our safe place. The paintings query if it is the presence of people that turn a house into a home, and what it says about our community when there are houses left empty.

I concentrate primarily on painting, using acrylic paint on canvas. I utilize a clean technique, each colour is meticulously layered to form an opaque uniformity, and edges are clean and defined. As the years have progressed, I have refined my process and have tried to refine my palette, using only the necessary colours to depict the scenes.
