Ida Mitrani is a multidisciplinary visual artist whose practice is rooted in drawing and expands into large-scale drawing installations and mixed-media works. Her work explores how botanical and vegetal forms can shift across different artistic media, while examining themes of resilience, displacement, adaptation, hybridity and the relationship between human and non-human worlds. Drawing is central to her practice, creating connections between plant forms, found materials and the environments she encounters.
Mitrani has exhibited collaboratively with her collective Embardee, in Maison Prébendale in France, in 2026 and in the Triskel arts centre, in 2024, supported by Sample Studios in Cork. Other exhibitions include Droichead Arts Centre, Laneway Gallery, Roscommon Arts Centre, VISUAL Carlow, GOMA Waterford, the Lexicon Gallery, Temple Bar Gallery + Studios, Oonagh Young Gallery, and Cross Gallery. She has also presented a solo exhibition at NAG in Dublin.
Mitrani was awarded the inaugural P N O’Gorman Auctioneers Award for a Work on Paper at the 194th RHA Annual Exhibition in Dublin in 2024. Other awards and opportunities include Cork County Artist in the Community Scheme 2026, the Atelier Penlan residency (2024), the Arts Council Agility Award (2022), Dublin Arts Office residential space (2022), and the Arts for Health residency award at Uillinn: West Cork Arts Centre (2021).
Works by Ida Mitrani are held in public collections including the HSE public collection, Crawford MAAP Graduate Collection, the National Library of Ireland, the National Archives of Ireland, and the Arts Office of Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown.
