My art practice reflects the power of imagination. With my own vivid imagination, I explore elements of scale and dimension, undescribed and unfathomable, and I seek new ground. My aspiration to adventure and to the magical lead me to painting a ‘parallel’ with CERN’s physics, and this is now an area of particular interest for me. Describing quantum physics also serves as a source of artistic inspiration, as I investigate imagination.
I work large-scale, in vivacious colour, with paint and dry media, expressively and spontaneously responding to my theme. I also employ more measured designing, and sculpture, for work informed by my brain-storming. Fun, the dimension of absurdity, and the reach for connection -using text, interactivity and immersive experience – are valued goals. I am inspired by Sarah Sze who, in Triple Point, concluded her subject was too complex to describe. To begin, I build a colourful new world.
