Open Call: Sample-Studios’ Member Solo Exhibition in Engage Studios, Galway (2026)
Sample-Studios is pleased to announce an exchange with our partners at Engage Studios Galway. This initiative continues our strong partnership and offers one member the opportunity of a solo exhibition in Engage Studios’ Gallery in Salthill, Galway in Spring 2026.
A member of Engage Studios will be selected for a reciprocal solo exhibition in The Lord Mayor’s Pavilion from January 22nd to February 28th 2026. This opportunity is ideally suited to artists who have already had a solo exhibition in Cork or the Munster Region and are actively pursuing solo exhibition opportunities outside of it.

- Dates: March 9th – April 10th 2026.

- Fee: The selected artist will receive an artist fee of €750. Transport/ installation/invigilation is covered by the Gallery.
Application Requirements
Please compile the following materials into one PDF document:
- Artist statement – Maximum 250 words
- Project description – Maximum 500 words. Please include:
- Details of the work you wish to exhibit
- Any technical or installation requirements
- CV – Maximum 2 pages
- Work samples – Up to 10 images, video links, or other relevant material
Selection Criteria
Applications will be assessed by Engage Studios’ management based on:
- Artistic quality – strength and clarity of the work
- Feasibility – suitability of the proposed work for the venue and exhibition timeframe
- Professional development – the potential benefit of the exhibition to the artist’s practice and career.

- Deadline: Send your proposal, as one pdf, to programme@sample-studios.com with the subject line “Engage Galway Solo Exhibition Application” by October 23rd at 1pm. Please ensure you use the correct email details as incorrectly sent or late applications will not be accepted.
- Notification date: Applicants will be notified of the outcome of their application by December.
