We’re celebrating the work and achievements of Viktoria Kondratieva today, a native Ukrainian artist, on the 3-year anniversary of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. On a solemn day, we’re nonetheless incredibly proud of the work of Viktoria, our current resident in TRISKEL SAMPLE Project Space in Triskel Arts Centre, whose beautiful exhibition which runs until 2 March celebrates her Ukrainian heritage.
Viktoria has become an active voice in the community. This evening 24 February, in University College Cork Library, Viktoria will speak at a special event marking today’s important anniversary about her story and the work she has been doing since leaving her home country and settling in Cork. The event takes place from 5-7pm and is free to attend. In addition, this Saturday 1 March, Viktoria will offer a public workshop in Triskel Arts Centre in which participants will make traditional Ukrainian Motanka rag dolls, learning about the heritage and meaning of these objects.
We couldn’t be more proud to have Viktoria as a member and a participant in our Studios of Sanctuary funded by Rethink Ireland.
